Crude Refining

The NIS refining complex consists of one refinery with two separate locations in Pančevo and Novi Sad.

NIS refineries engage in the production of a wide portfolio of petroleum and natural gas products meeting international quality standards and refinery production specifications: car and jet fuel, liquid petroleum gas (LPG), oils and lubricants, fuel oils, bitumen, petro-chemical and other products.

The following types of crude oil are processed in NIS refineries: REB, Siberia light, ES Sider, CPC Blend – imported light oil; paraffin and naphthenic oil – domestic types of oil produced in Kikinda and Velebit.

The share of processed domestic oil was increased by 15% in 2011 vs. 2010 due to simultaneous increase in domestic oil production and reduction of refining volume of imported oil (by 28%). Domestic oil volume in 2011 accounts for 42% of total volume of refined oil.

The Company aims at increasing its share in production of white products.  The share of white products in the total production was 67% in 2011.

In accordance with the Company’s development strategy, the annual volume of processed oil should amount 5 million tons by 2020.
