NIS is the sponsor of the award for chemistry and related sciences, which will be awarded this year by the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA, in Serbian: SANU). The award, based on a public competition, and consisting of a Plaque and a financial compensation will be presented at the Day of SASA ceremony, on November 19. Based on excellent results in the previous 10 years, candidates can be nominated by scientific and educational institutions and renowned scientist or educational groups of the highest rank. Award can be presented to an individual or group of scientists, and is decided by a special SASA Committee. Science is an integral part of NIS business activities, having in mind that the application of know-how and technologies is necessary for business development and sustainable development principles. As a socially responsible company, NIS wishes to support the development and promotion of research activities in the society, and this award contributes to this idea, as well as it provides support and motivation to all scientists and researchers. Apart from the award in chemistry, SASA will this year also present awards for physics, as well as for technical sciences and biomedicine in the coming year.
