May 20, 2017

This is the seventh consecutive year that NIS has participated in the “Night of Museums”. Visitors of the showroom at the Business Centre of NIS in Novi Sad may, among other things, make a one-of-a-kind tour of the history of oil industry captured in articles from internal corporate magazines. Apart from that, the permanent exhibition of the museum, refurbished in 2016, showcases the development of NIS, while valuable exhibits familiarise visitors with the first wells, the beginnings of exploration and production of oil and gas, processing of oil, and petrol stations in our country. During the “Night of Museums”, the museum of NIS in the centre of Kikinda featured a rich petroleum history of the only company involved in the exploration and production of oil and gas in Serbia, with the focus on the process of making oil and laboratory analyses of the samples of crude oil from the fields of Vojvodina. This specialised petroleum museum in Kikinda was inaugurated in late 2016 and is participating in the “Night of Museums” for the very first time. Interesting games, such as doing theme puzzles and mailing postcards featuring petroleum topics to friends, are in store for all visitors of the museums of NIS in the “Night of Museums”. “We take great pleasure in the fact that this is yet another year that NIS is part of the “Night of Museums”, one of major cultural events in the country. We are presenting our museums in Novi Sad and Kikinda, which are unique in Serbia, to visitors.
