This award represents a recognition of NIS’ long-term dedication and investment in scientific and educational institutions through its Energy of Knowledge programme. NIS’ collaboration with the University in Novi Sad began in 2010. It continues to develop in the areas of education, research, development of the scientific and technical base, knowledge transfer, as well as through scholarships granted by the Fund for providing scholarships and facilitating progress of talented students and young researchers and artists of the University of Novi Sad. Additionally, NIS has established a long-term cooperation with many faculties within this university, such as the Faculty of Technology, Mihajlo Pupin Technical Faculty in Zrenjanin, Faculty of Technical Sciences, Faculty of Education in Sombor, Faculty of Economics in Subotica and the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. At the beginning of this year, the company signed memorandums of cooperation with Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas from Moscow and the University in Novi Sad, which outline their collaboration in establishing joint Master’s programmes on these universities, in line with the company’s needs. For its contribution to the quality education in Serbia, NIS received the prestigious St. Sava Award from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. The award ceremony was held in the Rectorate of the University in Novi Sad, where the University presented appreciation awards to all institutions and companies which supported its activities during academic year 2018/2019. Stefan Despotović, Director of the Department for External Communications, received the award on behalf of NIS. The event was attended by the representatives of the Provincial Government, the City of Novi Sad, the University’s management, academicians and many other guests.
