The Pančevo Oil Refinery initiated start-up activities that will enable the re-establishment of commercial operation of production facilities. The first delivery of petroleum products from the refinery is expected on 27 January. Start-up activities take place according to the established schedule, in accordance with the company’s internal procedures and in compliance with the highest environmental standards and rules of occupational safety and health.
Bearing in mind the imported quantities of crude oil, as well as crude oil produced on domestic oil fields, it is planned that the refinery will operate throughout February, while further work will be in line with the decisions on approving the company’s operational activities. Renewal of production at the Pančevo Oil Refinery will further improve the energy stability of the Republic of Serbia and preserve a stable supply of the domestic market with petroleum products.
The period of suspension of production in the refinery was also used to perform overhaul activities, the most significant of which are the replacement of the catalyst on the DHT reactor and the overhaul of the S-4700 plant.
The Pančevo Oil Refinery is also crucial for the operation of HIP-Petrohemija, whose start-up depends on the availability of raw materials for processing, as well as long-term decisions related to the approval of NIS operational activities.
On 31 December 2025, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury issued a special license that allows the company to conduct operational activities until 23 January of the current year.
