The basic activities include exploration, production, and processing of oil and natural gas, trade in a wide range of oil and gas derivatives, as well as the implementation of projects in petrochemistry and energy. The headquarters and main production facilities of NIS are located in the Republic of Serbia: oil and gas fields, the Pancevo Oil Refinery, storage facilities, and a network of gas stations.
In addition to Serbia, NIS also operates in the Balkan region. Regional expansion occurs in two main directions – in the field of oil and gas exploration and production (in Romania and Bosnia and Herzegovina) and through the development of retail networks (in Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Romania). NIS manages a network of over 400 gas stations under two brands – NIS Petrol and the premium brand GAZPROM – in the Balkan market. Moreover, NIS is active in the electricity trading sector, present not only in Serbia but also in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Romania, Slovenia, and Hungary.
