NIS has filed a request with the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury for a new special license, with the aim of ensuring the smooth continuation of business activities after April 17, 2026, when the previously approved license expires.
The filing of the request represents a continuation of the company’s continuous activities aimed at preserving the stability of its operations in complex circumstances. In this context, the importance of NIS for the energy security of the Republic of Serbia was highlighted, especially in the face of significant challenges on the global oil market. The request also emphasized that the license for discussions regarding potential changes in the company’s ownership structure has been extended until May 22, 2026.
