Author: NIS team 25.10.2025. • 5 min read

Hi Bojan! Can you introduce yourself in a few sentences?

My name is Bojan Radulović, I’m 38 years old and I’ve been working at NIS since 2007. At work, I’m known for my high sense of responsibility, I enjoy teamwork and I’m always happy to help others. I’m also a big sports enthusiast and have been actively playing football for 20 years.

What does your job look like? What does it job involve?

I work as chief of the Crew for Safety Valve Testing and Fixture Repair. Our team is responsible for dismantling, repairing, refurbishing, servicing, calibrating and installing this equipment. I organize the team’s daily work and perform quality control, and I also handle documentation, prepare work reports and communicate with various managers.

Where did you study, and did your studies prepare you for the field you work in?

I completed the Nikola Tesla School of Electrical Engineering, which didn’t have much overlap with this field. I’m currently doing admission tests at the Higher Mechanical Engineering School, which I chose because my job is closely connected to the subjects studied there.

What was your first contact with NIS? When did you become interested in applying?

I actually thought about NIS even back in middle school, but I became seriously interested after finishing high school. As part of my classes, I did an internship at NIS and had the chance to see what the job looks like. What attracted me most were the benefits offered to employees.

Were you interested in the oil and energy industry before joining NIS?

Yes. Hearing stories from others about the work process and production of the final product, I really wanted to work in the oil industry.

What would you say to someone in your field who is unsure about applying to NIS? What advice would you give them to succeed in the interview?

Apply without hesitation! During the interview, answer questions clearly and confidently, and use concrete examples to show your experience and skills.

What were your first days at NIS like, and how has your career developed so far?/strong>

As the youngest team member, I started as an assistant/trainee worker and then as a worker on metalworking tasks. On my first day, I was welcomed by a team of friendly people who gave me a brief introduction to NIS and the Refinery, after which I tried to learn as much as possible from experienced colleagues.

After a little less than two years, I moved into the role of stationary equipment mechanic. Over the next six years, I progressed through similar positions with increasing responsibilities, and then moved into the role of crew leader, that is, deputy supervisor. Shortly after that, I was promoted to chief supervisor and specialist for safety valve calibration and equipment overhaul.

What do you like most about your job?

The opportunity to learn and grow, new challenges, and in my opinion the most important thing – teamwork. Just like in sports, I wanted to have that at work too, because working alone isn’t as enjoyable for me.

Is there anything else from your career you think is worth mentioning?

To anyone starting their career, I’d like to say that with effort and hard work you can overcome all challenges, develop your skills, learn to listen and learn to plan. And in time, you’ll be able to become a mentor yourself, transfer knowledge and train new colleagues who are just beginning their journey, just like more experienced colleagues once did for us.
