Joint Campaign of NIS, STA, and Ministry of Eduction “SPORT AGAINST VIOLENCE”

On this occasion, 260 children from 26 classes, from first to fourth grade, were acquainted with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) program – MINI TENNIS, which targets school children and has for its aims, apart from tennis school, also popularization of sport values, culture of non-violence, fair play in sport, which are all extremely important elements of healthy children growth. In addition to tennis training, children were presented gifts, provided by NIS, which is a year-long general sponsor of STA within its own program “Energy of Sport” and within the strategy of socially responsible operation. In this way, NIS is a partner of Tennis Association in promoting healthy living and in engaging young talents. The campaign “Sport Against Violence” will be spread across Serbia, in over 300 elementary schoold during the schoolyear 2014/15. Its premiere and opening happened this summer in the seat of Serbian Tennis Association, in Belgrade located Impuls Hall, where on June 4, 2014, children from 14 elementary schools from Belgrade, were acquanited with tennis in an entertaining and motivational manner. While using mini tennis courts, smaller requets and lighter balls, children had also an oportunity to become familiar with tennis playing skills, using equipment that has been adjusted to their age. The campaign “Sport Against Violence” was held this summer also in Novi Becej, and by mid-October, tennis school for the youngest will visit elementary schools in cities of Prijepolje (October 10, 2014) and Nova Varos (October 14, 2014).
