NIS supported “Vivaldi Forum” of Mokra Gora School of Management “Female Leadership”

NIS supported the traditional “Female Leadership” Vivaldi Forum, which was held in the Belgrade Mixer House NIS was represented at this event by Nadežda Kokotović, the Company CEO’s Chief of Staff. Following the keynote speech delivered by prof. Predrag J. Marković, who gave an overview of women’s outstanding achievements in various walks of life, the “Laureate of Virtue” award was presented for the year of 2016 to Draginja Đurić, who presides over the Executive Board of the Inteza Bank. The ensuing panel discussion looked into the female leadership in present-day  Serbia, with panellists such as prof. Nada Perišić – Popović, dean of the “Singidunum” faculty, prof. Neda Todorović, professor at the Political Sciences faculty, Olja Bećković, a journalist and Nadežda Kokotović, NIS. The panel discussion delved with notions like leader and leadership, touched upon the subject of the position of women in those professions, which were initially deemed masculine, then looked into ways to achieve equilibrium between a person’s ambition and realistic opportunities, as well as the invariable commitment of any society to respect female values. The panel reached a conclusion that in their quest to be leaders in their walk of life, women ought to have a clear-cut vision of their wishes, to use every opportunity coming their way, as well as to demand the support of the society and equal evaluation of their achievements. The panel discussion delved with notions like leader and leadership, touched upon the subject of the position of women in those professions, which were initially deemed masculine This event was rounded up with “My story” by Marina Maljković, the selector of Serbia’s national basketball team. She pointed out the huge inspiration she derives from her work with female team, as well as her pride as a woman in a typically male profession. Marina spoke about the respect she has for each and every team member and of her tremendous effort to constantly demonstrate it to them. Marina is also the founder of a pro bono Movement for Female basketball, which facilitates training young gifted female players, thus unequivocally demonstrating she is a true leader in her realm. Recognising the importance of this subject, NIS has supported the “Female Leadership” forum in association with such businesses as Telekom Srbija, Elektroprivreda Srbije, company Dr. Oetker and many others.
