On 12 February, NIS submitted a new request to the US Treasury Department for the issuance of a special license, enabling the uninterrupted conduct of the company’s operational activities after 20 February, when the deadline stipulated by the previous license expires.
In the request, NIS emphasizes the importance of the company’s regular operations for the economy of the Republic of Serbia, as well as for the ongoing negotiations regarding the change in ownership structure, stating that the extension of the operational license would also provide the necessary timeframe for the interested parties to finalize these discussions.
The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury previously issued a license for the negotiations on changes in the ownership structure of NIS, to shareholders and interested parties, validity of which is until 24 March 2026.
NIS expresses its gratitude to all domestic and foreign institutions supporting the efforts to enable the company’s unhindered business operations.
