The wish to provide a full contribution to sustainable development in our country has remained a priority of NIS despite numerous challenges that the company is currently facing. The contribution to economic development, human resources progress, environmental protection and the well-being of the wider community was one of the main goals of NIS even in the challenging 2025 year. This is evidenced by the Sustainable Development Report for the previous year published on the company’s website, which provides a comprehensive overview of NIS’ activities, results and key achievements in the past year. It is also the 16th consecutive sustainable development report of the company, which is also an indicator that NIS remains consistent with the practice of regular and open reporting on its activities.
The report provides an overview of key initiatives and projects implemented in 2025, in the fields of environmental protection, energy efficiency, occupational safety and health, employee development, corporate social responsibility and corporate governance. In the year in which the company priority was to preserve the stability and orderly supply the domestic market, as well as to provide the social security to employees, NIS invested RSD 923 million in environmental protection projects. The process of energy transition continued, so the construction of solar photovoltaic power plants continued at numerous facilities of the company. Thus, at Novi Sad Petroleum Products Warehouse, NIS put into operation a solar photovoltaic power plant on the ground, one of the largest in Serbia , consisting of almost 12,000 solar photovoltaic panels and covering 10 hectares of free space within the petroleum products warehouse.
In order to improve the professional competencies of employees, the company focused on internal knowledge transfer in 2025. A special emphasis was placed on sharing internal expertise with as many colleagues as possible.
Despite challenging circumstances, the company also remained consistent in providing support to the community, with attention being given to the youngest members of society. Thus in 2025, NIS invested RSD 367,3 million in socially responsible projects and support to professional sports in Serbia.
In the continuation of its business activities, the principles of sustainable development will be the foundation of all activities of NIS company and additional support to facing challenges.
