NIS continues its support to healthcare institutions dealing with reproductive health in our country, within which modern medical equipment worth four million dinars was procured for the needs of the Health Center “Dr. Đorđe Bastić” in Srbobran.
This project was implemented through the socially responsible programme “Together for the Community”, which the company implemented last year under the slogan “Let New Hopes Be Born” with the aim of contributing to the national priority of improving reproductive health and increasing the birth rate. The Health Center “Dr. Đorđe Bastić” received a modern ultrasound machine that will contribute to the improved quality and accuracy of diagnostics for pregnant women and other patients, significantly reduce waiting lists and increase the number of examinations by almost 50 percent.
“On behalf of the municipality of Srbobran and all its citizens, I would like to thank NIS for its continuous support. Our cooperation so far has been at a very high level, and I hope that we will continue in the same direction in the future and implement many more projects that will certainly contribute to a better quality of life for all citizens in our local community,” said Radivoj Debeljački, the President of the municipality of Srbobran.
Igor Korać, the Head of the Department for Geodetic Works at NIS, pointed out that this is the 55th project supported by the company in Srbobran through the “Together for the Community” programme. “I believe that our good cooperation will continue in the future, and we will be there to be a good partner to the municipality of Srbobran,” Korać stated, while Dr. Vlastimir Kladara, the Director of the Health Center “Dr. Đorđe Bastać”, thanked NIS and emphasised that timely and quality healthcare is of the utmost importance for patients.
Considering the increasing number of couples facing fertility issues, in an attempt to bring to life as many new hopes as possible, NIS provided financial support of one million dinars to the municipality of Srbobran to conduct a public call to support couples in the process of in vitro fertilisation. “Together for the Community”, the leading corporate social responsibility programme of NIS, celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. It is implemented in 13 partner cities and municipalities throughout Serbia, where NIS conducts the majority of its business activities. So far, more than 1,000 projects have been implemented through this programme, in which NIS has invested almost 1.6 billion dinars. The municipality of Srbobran has been participating in the “Together for the Community” programme since its inception in 2009, and 55 projects have been jointly implemented so far, with a total value of 77.5 million dinars.
This year, NIS will invest a record 144.5 million dinars within the “Together for the Community” programme to improve the educational process and infrastructure of primary and secondary school facilities. Funds will also be directed towards the improvement of research and innovation capacities and infrastructure of scientific and research organisations and science and technology parks.
