In line with its corporate social responsibility, NIS started the 2012 NIS CHANCE programme having the goal of employing young, talented candidates who graduated high school or university and have no work experience. As a result of this, 215 candidates signed their employment contracts today in Novi Sad, enabling them to work at the company in their area of expertise. NIS partners in the first phase of this programme are AP Vojvodina and local authorities of Novi Sad, Pančevo, Kikinda, Zrenjanin and Novi Bečej. In the first phase, 129 university graduates will have the opportunity to work, learn, gain first professional experience and become a part of our team. Most of them come from the area of mining and geology, economics, electrical and mechanical engineering. Eighty-six high-school graduates, including electrical technicians, millwrights, construction millwrights, chemical and mechanical technicians, will have an opportunity to gain their first work experience at NIS for nine months. All candidates were carefully selected through a series of tests and their grade point average was evaluated as well. In the selection procedure, NIS cooperated with municipalities, faculties and the National Employment Agency. Moreover, in the fall, NIS is starting the second phase of the programme, in which eighty more young people with no work experience will get an opportunity to work. They will be hired at Belgrade, Pančevo, Novi Sad, Niš, and Čačak. With their energy and knowledge they will surely refresh and strengthen our company.
