An independent member of the BoD contributes to the success and development of a company

NlS is the first company in the region that introduced the position of an independent member of the BoD. Renowned experts with long experience in the oil industry and international management are appointed to that position in NIS. Interviewees of "Blic Novac", who talked about their own experience, were Wolfgang Ruttenstorfer and Stanislav Sekšnja. They talked about what exactly the role and importance of an independent BoD member is, how he/she contributes to the success and development of a company. Ruttenstorfer explains that the task of independent management is to work in the interest of all shareholders, not only a specific group. Šekšnja, a renowned professor of the international business school Insead in Paris, who has been an independent member of the BoD of NIS for over two years, explains that such a position is a novelty in corporate management “feedback or a mechanism for overcoming the agency theory”.
