Ceremonial start of CCPP Pančevo construction

March 7, 2019

The ceremony was attended by NIS CEO Kirill Tyurdenev and Aleksandar Antić, Mining and Energy Minister in Serbia’s Government, Denis Fyodorov, general director of “Gazprom Energo Holding”, Hua Sing Sheng, representing Shanghai Electric Group, which is the contractor, as well as numerous guests and media. This project stipulates the construction of a co-generation power plant based on the steam-gas cycle technology intended for the combined heat and power generation in the form of process steam, its total installed generating capacity almost 200 MW. NIS (49 per cent share in equity) shall deliver this project in association with “Gazprom Energo Holding” (51 per cent). The CCPP is intended to mainly meet an ever growing power and process steam demand within the Pančevo Refinery. Other than that, CCPP is to facilitate the steady power supply as the portion of the power it generates is to be provided to Serbia’s electricity grid. The launch of CCPP Pančevo is planned for 2020.
