NIS was awarded two certificates of appreciation by the University of Novi Sad NIS was awarded certificates of appreciation in two categories. The first one for support of the operation of the Fund for Talented Students, which NIS supports by awarding scholarships each year and employing top five engineering students, from the study programs of interest to the business. The second certificate of appreciation was received for the company's support of the University of Novi Sad, the Science Festival and other activities aimed at improving science and education system. On behalf of NIS, the certificates of appreciation were accepted by Andrej Shibanov, deputy director general of NIS and Snežana Lakićević, manager of NIS for cooperation with educational and scientific institutions. The celebration of the of the University of Novi Sad Day, as well as the 56th anniversary of existence and operation were celebrated with a ceremonial session of the University's Council and the Senate, as well as with the ceremonial promotion of honorary PhDs and new professors emeriti. As a socially responsible company, NIS dedicates special attention to support of science and education, and develops, through its programme "Energy of Knowledge", cooperation with the Universities of Belgrade and Novi Sad, a large number of faculties and primary and secondary schools, as well as with specialized scientific societies.
