March 31, 2016

Agreement on Cooperation, based on which the company NIS will continue to invest in the development of the City of Belgrade was signed between Kirill Kravchenko, CEO of NIS and Siniša Mali, Mayor of Belgrade In this way NIS and the City of Belgrade continue their successful cooperation, and Belgrade-based associations and institutions will again this year be provided with an opportunity to compete with their projects in the area of sport, culture, environmental protection, science and help to vulnerable social groups. NIS has allocated 20 million dinars for the funding of projects to be selected by the committee comprised of representatives of NIS and the City of Belgrade and prominent people from local communities. Despite the crisis in the global oil market, the company has not reduced the amount of funds to support local communities and it is the same as in 2015. For the third consecutive year NIS has been implementing the program to support local projects in the territory of Belgrade within the scope of the “Together for the Community” program. Total amount of funds invested by NIS through this program, but also through other corporate social responsibility projects in the territory of the City of Belgrade in the past six years, amounts to 150 million dinars. As a company whose strategic commitment includes corporate social responsibility, since 2009 NIS has actively supported projects in local self-governments in which it operates. In this way, the company proves that it is a reliable partner to local communities and for the past seven years, a total of 800 million dinars have been invested in approximately 760 projects which have facilitated the functioning of numerous institutions and have improved the work of many cultural, educational and sports institutions throughout Serbia. Through the program "Together for the Community" NIS cooperates with 11 cities and municipalities in Serbia, those being Belgrade, Novi Sad, Čačak, Niš, Pančevo, Zrenjanin, Kikinda, Kanjiža, Srbobran, Žitište and Novi Bečej. The competition in which the citizens’ associations, institutions and organizations from these local communities will be able to compete with their projects will be open from 1st April to 31st May this year. The terms and conditions and rules of the public competition will be announced on the website www.zajednicizajedno.nis.eu.
