Cooperation between NIS and the City of Belgrade Continues

February 5, 2015

As part of this programme, NIS is going to earmark another 20 million dinars this year for projects in the area of sports, culture, environmental protection, science and assistance to socially vulnerable groups to be implemented by Belgrade-based associations. The City of Belgrade has been part of this programme for the second consecutive year and last year alone NIS invested 20 million dinars in the implementation of 15 projects in the capital city. NIS has been implementing the programme of support to local communities since 2009 and nearly 800 million dinars has been invested so far in more than 600 projects, which have contributed to the socio-economic development of the towns and municipalities where the company runs its operations. It is within this programme that the company has been conducting the Together to the Community public competition for four consecutive years in 11 towns: Belgrade, Novi Sad, Zrenjanin, Pančevo, Niš, Kikinda, Kanjiža, Novi Bečej, Srbobran, Žitište and Čačak. Starting from this year, the company is going to pay more attention to the quality of the projects it supports, so institutions looking after the broader social good will get involved, as well. From this year on, project selection will not depend only on the representatives of NIS, local authorities and prominent individuals, but also on the citizens themselves, who will be able to vote online for the project they wish to see implemented in their town. Associations and institutions may apply to the public competition Together to the Community from 5 to 26 February. Terms and requirements will be posted on the website www.zajednicizajedno.nis.eu. Interested parties may submit their proposals to the e-mail address zajednicizajedno@nis.eu or apply on the website. The results of the competition will be announced by 8 May 2015.
