Exit Foundation Youth Conference Supported by NIS

December 12, 2014

It was concluded at this gathering in Novi Sad that providing support to the best and brightest young people and their promotion as role models to their peers is one of the essential ways of building a prosperous society in Serbia. In addition, the initiative to nominate Novi Sad as the youth capital of Europe in 2018 was reaffirmed. Participants were particularly interested in the video piece presenting several “young heroes” who deserve the acknowledgement and attention of the general public, including the participants of NIS' Energy of Knowledge programme, Sofija Šoškić and Filip Ilić. NIS presented its corporate programme entitled Energy of Knowledge at the conference. Conference participants learned that NIS, as one of the major energy companies in the region, has recognised the importance of investing in the youth, education and science, offering wonderful opportunities to young and motivated people via scholarships for talented students, support to secondary-school competitions, internship at the Company, and other possibilities offered by NIS as part of the programme. -We therefore nurture partnerships with educational leaders in the country. We cooperate with universities, faculties, secondary schools and professional scientific associations. We invest in the educational system, pupils and students who achieve top results during their education, aiming to create a healthy society's future and ensure highly qualified experts required by the Company, emphasised Snežana Lakićević, Manager for Cooperation with Universities at NIS. The importance of supporting young talents and promoting positive role models for the youth in Serbia was also discussed by representatives of the City of Novi Sad, Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Exit.
