Memorandum of Cooperation between NIS and the University of Banja Luka was signed

The Memorandum of Cooperation in the Rectorate of the University of Banja Luka was signed by Andrej Šibanov, CEO Deputy and Director of NIS Function for Organization Affairs and professor Milan Mataruga Ph.D, Rector of the Banja Luka University. The document envisions establishment of partnership relations between the two sides in the promotion and popularization of Russian language and culture in the Republic of Srpska, as well as the development of scientific research, staff development and sharing knowledge. At the same time, cooperation will include organizing guest lectures of NIS experts at the University of Banja Luka, involving students in the Company programs for young people, and working together on creating conditions for organizing the Olympiad of knowledge from the Russian language in the Republic of Srpska. Andrej Šibanov, CEO Deputy and Director of NIS Function for Organizational Affais emphasized: „It is a great honor for NIS to start cooperation with the University of Banja Luka. We believe that our cooperation in the field of science and education will contribute to the reaffirmation and popularization of the Russian language in the Republic of Srpska, as well as capacity building and training staff for joint projects that will, I am sure, achieve top results in the future“. Company NIS has been developing partnership with educational and scientific institutions for five years within the corporate program „Energy of Knowledge“, which aims to improve conditions for education and training of young experts, as well as to adapt study programs to the market needs. Within this program NIS supports, among other things, numerous projects aimed at spreading and popularization of the Russian language. These projects include organizations of the Russian Language Olympiad for pupils of elementary schools, gymnasiums and secondary vocational schools where children from Republika Srpska participated. In addition, NIS helped to open a bilingual Russian-Serbian class in two schools in Serbia. So far, the Company has signed 46 agreements with domestic and international scientific and educational institutions in the country and abroad, and through the scholarship program more than 94 students have passed so far. For its contribution to the development of education in Serbia, in 2016 NIS received a prestigious „Saint Sava Award“ given by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Government of the Republic of Serbia. Beside NIS, representatives of the University of Banja Luka signed an agreement on cooperation with the Russian Center for Science and Culture in the Republic of Serbia (Russian House). In addition to the delegation of NIS and the Representatives of the Rossotrudnichestvo in Serbia, the „Russian House“, the ceremony was attended by Ambassador of Serbia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Mr. Stanimir Vukićević, Advisor at the Russian Embassy, Mr. Petr Frolov and Consul of the Republic of Serbia in Banja Luka, Radoslav Ilic.
