NIS Еcology project implemented in Kaniza

June 13, 2014

NIS launched a Solar LED tree at a ceremony held in the Beszédes József College in the town of Kanjiža today. The company supported this environmental project within its socially responsible business programme for 2013. A mini solar park represents a unique architectural design with solar panels have been arranged in the form of a big tree. This solar LED tree is powered by the Sun as a renewable energy source for light and electricity consumption within the college production units. Aleksei Belov, NIS Energy Director, took this occasion as an opportunity to reiterate NIS commitment to facilitate local communities’ development through the “Cooperation for Development” project. The solar LED tree is one out of 12 such projects backed by NIS last year. This year within a public competition programme the company is to fund another 23 projects in Kanjiža. The college principal Zoltán Sárnyai and the Kanjiža major Mihály Nyilas were among those, who delivered speech at the ceremony. Following the event Aleksei Belov together with major Mihály Nyilas visited NIS cogeneration modul at the Velebit booster station aimed at increasing energy efficiency. This is the third project of the sort which transforms associated-dissolved gas into thermal energy and electricity. 2.5 million euros have been invested into this project featuring a 1.99 MW cogenerator. Aleksei Belov has pointed out that by the end of 2014 NIS wells are to be outfitted with a total of ten congeneration modules.
