NIS and Serbian Orthodox Church signed the agreement on cooperation

April 11, 2012

His Holiness, Patriarch Irinej of Serbia and Kirill Kravchenko, General Director of NIS, have signed today in Patriarchate in Belgrade the Protocol on long-term cooperation, which implies realization of humanitarian projects within Serbian Orthodox Church. Among other things,  NIS has assumed in the agreement the obligation to handover to Serbian Orthodox Church the part of Pančevo Refinery territory on which Orthodox Monastery Vojlovica is situated. Namely, it is an Orthodox Temple originating from 14th century. By cooperation with Serbian Orthodox Church NIS intends, as socially responsible company, to help to preserve Orthodox Temples in Serbia which have great cultural and historical significance, and in that way to help also to preserve the tradition and spiritual values in this area.
