First Tennis Steps Alongside Davis Cup National Team Members. The Davis Cup national team members, led by Novak Đoković, were true tennis coaches for the youngsters who have beaten cancer, at the Open Tennis School organized by NIS and the Serbian Tennis Association.
On the occasion, NIS donated a one-year fuel card to the parent association NURDOR (The National Association of Parents of Children with Cancer). In this way, fuel is provided for the transportation of children to the cities where the medical centres at which they are treated are located.
“I am glad that the greatest fighters are with us on this court today – the children who have beaten and are fighting the illness, as well as our top tennis players. I believe that there will be a true exchange of energy on the court, and that we will all be part of the same team, for a moment at least. NIS has for many years been a partner of the Serbian Tennis Association, and together they have been actively participating in the promotion of sports and true values. The Nurdor Parent Association provides the right sort of support to children so that they could weather the hard times, and NIS is inviting its partners and other companies to join in and follow in our footsteps, and help the children along their road to recovery,“ Kirill Kravchenko, the NIS j.s.c. Chief Executive Officer, said in a statement.
The NIS Company is leading the team of sponsors of the Serbian Tennis Association for the fourth time running, as well as the Davis Cup national team, hoping that the success of two years ago will be repeated, when this team brought joy to everyone by winning this prestigious competition and thus promoted the greatest sports values and the team spirit.
In the corporate policy of social responsibility, NIS pays special attention to the development of the younger generations, by supporting science and the children’s and youth sports schools. In accordance with this, the company increases every year the volume of investments aimed at the development of the social sphere, in which NIS has invested around 3 billion RSD since 2009.
As part of the “Energy of Sport“ corporate program of social responsibility, in addition to the Serbian Tennis Association, NIS supports the Serbian Basketball Association, as well as the Partizan Soccer Club, Vojvodina Volleyball Club, and the Belgrade Marathon. In 2013, NIS has earmarked nearly 144 million RSD for projects in the domain of sports.
