Dmitry Fomenko, Deputy CEO and Director of Organization Issues at NIS and Professor Nebojša Lalić, PhD, Dean at the Belgrade University School of Medicine today signed a Memorandum on cooperation between NIS and the BUSM. The ceremonial signing was also attended by Professor Tomislav Jovanović, PhD, Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, Ivanka Popović, PhD, Vice-Dean of at the University of Belgrade, David Allison, HSE Director at NIS and Snežana Lakićević. The Memorandum was signed as part of NIS’s cooperation with the University in Belgrade and presents a continuation of NIS’ support to high education institutions. This document projects the cooperation between NIS and the Belgrade University School of Medicine in the field of professional and scientific advancement in the domain of occupational safety and health and their joint efforts on international projects regarding healthcare. The Belgrade University School of Medicine will be engaged on programs monitoring the employees’ medical condition at the Company as well as exchange of information in the field of occupational safety and health. „Today’s event is an example on how joint efforts by the universities and successful companies contribute to the development of education and science. NIS’s support to the Belgrade University School of Medicine shall benefit the whole society and the Company as well“, said Professor Tomislav Jovanović, PhD, Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development. Dmitry Fomenko, Deputy CEO and Director of Organization Issues at NIS said on this occasion that health and safety are one of the most important factors in our company as a result of which the cooperation with the Belgrade University School of Medicine shall be developed in that direction, which presents an investment for NIS. „The Memorandum is a basis for the successful cooperation between NIS and the Belgrade University School of Medicine in the field of healthy living, prevention and occupational health and safety. I hope this cooperation will expand to other spheres of education and that we will be able to invest mutual energy in scientific work as well“, said Professor Nebojša Lalić, PhD, Dean at the Belgrade University School of Medicine.
