Snežana Lakićević, Manager for Cooperation with Educational and Scientific Institutions at NIS, attended the meeting on behalf of the company The Summit was organized in order to exchange experiences and good practices but also to provide networking of the young. Snežana Lakićević participated in the panel discussion entitled “Noncompliance between the educational system and labour market needs” and on that occasion she presented the projects in the field of cooperation between NIS and educational institutions, as an example of good practice. Within the scope of cooperation with the University of Belgrade and University of Novi Sad, and in order to align the labour market needs with the educational system, NIS initiated the accreditation of two new study programs at the Faculty of Mining and Geology, University of Belgrade, a study program Industrial Engineering in Exploitation of Oil and Gas at the Technical Faculty “Mihajlo Pupin” from Zrenjanin, as well as a specialist program in the field of thermal energy at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad. Moreover, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the City of Zrenjanin, NIS organized trainings for occupations in demand, welders and drilling and maintenance workers, thus contributing to education and employment of the young. In this way, NIS seeks to create professional staff required in the labour market, and to provide employment to the young whose profession is required by the company. The “Youth Summit” was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports Vanja Udovičić, City Manager Goran Vesić, President of the City Assembly Nikola Nikodijević, as well as the representatives of the youth sector.
