NIS Cooperates with Belgrade University Economics Department (School of Economics) pursuant to the Memorandum оn Cooperation stipulating the implementation of joint projects in scientific research, students practicee within the NIS Company, as well as knowledge and experiance exchange. By the same token, this cooperation envisages staging guest lectures by experts on NIS staff and Belgrade School of Economics faculty, as well as facilitation in drafting research and graduation dissertations, training programmes and joint projects. NIS has been developing its partnership with education institutions within its “Power of Knowledge” programme aimed at creating a liaison between scientific and education institutions and adapt curricula and syllabi to market demands. It is essential that the cooperationе with Belgrade School of Economics is mutual and we provide students with opportunity to undergo quality practice at NIS, thus gaining valuable initial experience that would come in handy in upgrading their knowledge“, Shibanov said. “We are happy that NIS joined a group of 220 businesses that entered with Belgrade University Economics Department into cooperation agreements that envisage students and professional practice, field practice, providing scholarship to students, training programmes. Other than that, they devise incentives for forging strong liaisons between high education and business”, said the Dean of Belgrade School of Economics Branislav Boričić. Up to date, NIS has entered into 46 cooperation agreements with local and international scientific and education institutions. With a view of acknowledging the contribution to improving the conditions of Serbia’s education system, Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development bestowed on the NIS Company a prestigious “Saint Sava Charter”. This is the first time a business entity was awarded this prize.
