Under the motto 12 Innovations for Sustainable Future, NIS Creative Camp provided an opportunity for 12 young and talented designers of the Nova Iskra Design Hub to develop new energy efficiency and sustainable development concepts. The Camp was held in Mokrin House, in the village of Mokrin near Kikinda and lasted for three days, during which time young authors cooperated with leading creative directors in the field of design and technological innovations and were able to experiment with some ideas that might contribute to saving resources and energy in every-day life as part of the concepts applicable to new technological solutions or new products. The objective behind this type of cooperation is to reach innovative, efficient and sustainable solutions which will promote the use of renewable energy sources and increase energy efficiency in the entire community, which is the basis of NIS sustainable development programme. In addition, it is via the Creative Camp programme that NIS and Nova Iskra are striving to promote and motivate young and talented designers and creative people to dedicate themselves to developing related concepts by providing high-quality work conditions and full expert support. The NIS Creative Camp participants included young, unestablished authors in the area of industrial design, product development and architecture, and the 12 innovations for sustainable future were developed with the assistance of distinguished visiting mentors: Miha Klinar, a partner and creative director of the award-winning studio Gigo Design from Ljubljana, who specialises in the area of industrial design, was a design mentor, while Miloš Milisavljević, the founder of Senergy and author of the Strawberry Energy project, provided professional consultations from the technological point of view. NIS Creative Camp is a part of the corporate innovation management system. In an effort to stimulate innovativeness in all areas, NIS is going to start an internal programme for its employees as of 1 October, allowing them to submit proposals to the management on how to improve business operations and increase efficiency.
