NIS Equips IT Classroom in Mladenovac Grammar School

May 15, 2015

The school has been selected for the donation owing to the success achieved by its pupil Olivera Živojinović at the Serbian Chemistry Olympiad which is supported by NIS. The classroom opening ceremony was attended by school officials, NIS' Manager for Cooperation with Universities, Ms Snežana Lakićević, PhD, and Deputy Mayor of Belgrade Andreja Mladenović. In 2015 NIS has supported the opening of three computer classrooms and plans to open another six in selected elementary and secondary schools in Serbia by the end of the year, again as a reward to the pupils with top rankings in Olympiads in physics, chemicals, mathematics and Russian language. The Energy of Knowledge programme, through which the company develops its partnerships with educational and science institutions, funded the remodelling of a total of 25 computer classrooms and four laboratories in the past two years, and by now 82 students and secondary school children have completed NIS' scholarship programmes. The Company also organises summer schools and camps for students and secondary school children and supports the Petnica Science Centre. Energy of Knowledge is only a segment of NIS' comprehensive social responsibility scheme within the corporate strategy termed Future at Work.
