With a years-long tradition of being the general sponsor of the Serbian Basketball Federation, NIS has supported mini-basketball events for seven years running with a view to promoting children’s and youth sports and healthy youth development and tapping into new talents. Organised in collaboration with the Serbian Basketball Federation (“KSS”) and the City of Vranje, the event provided an opportunity for young people to play basketball on four mini basketball courts and to display their competitive spirit. The festival featured more than 40 mini basketball games between a total of over 70 teams, including a team from Germany, and at the end of the competition each player received a medal and a placard of recognition in appreciation of their fair play, while all clubs received a trophy. With its years-long tradition of being general sponsor of the Serbian Basketball Federation, NIS has supported mini basketball events for seven years running with the aim of promoting children and youth sports and healthy youth development, as well as the potential discovery of new talents. Under its corporate slogan “Future at Work,” NIS supports sporting events aimed at promoting basketball, but also fostering sportsmanship, team spirit and a culture of non-violence among children. NIS and KSS will continue to run mini basketball tournaments across Serbia, providing children with an opportunity to compete as well as to learn the rules of the game of mini basketball with the aid of professional coaching.
