NIS has announced a public competition for projects in local communities

Under the slogan ''Together for the Community'', NIS has announced a public competition for projects in local communities where the company does business, which will last until 10 May 2013. All associations of citizens and other non-profit institutions from the territory of ten municipalities and towns with which NIS entered into an Agreement on Cooperation will be able to independently compete for funds granted by NIS for projects in the area of sport, culture, environment protection, science and aid to socially vulnerable groups. The total value of the entire project amounts to RSD 88 million and it is implemented within the NIS corporate program ''Cooperation for development'' which has been carried out by the company for five consecutive years. The 2013 Agreements on Cooperation entered by NIS and municipalities and towns where the company does business were signed on 15 April 2013. Agreements were signed with Novi Sad, Niš, Pančevo, Zrenjanin, Kikinda, Novi Bečej, Žitište, Kanjiža, Srbobran and for the first time with Čačak. This year, NIS is granting funds which will be entirely (100%) distributed through a public invitation to bid. The terms and conditions of the public invitation wil be published tomorrow on the NIS website http://www.nis.rs/. All interested parties may submit their proposals from April 16 until 10 May 2013 by 16.00 through an online application on the website www.nis.rs or the following e-mail address mailto:saradnjaradirazvoja@nis.eu. The results of the competition will be published on the NIS website http://www.nis.rs/konkurs as well as on the websites of local self-governments for projects implemented in their territory. The agreement involves the improvement of the entire social and investment environment, a greater participation of NIS in solving concrete local problems and implementing projects. ''For the fifth consecutive year, NIS has been implementing a cooperation program with local communities in Serbia. During this period, our approach to the local community development program has improved. Only last year the value of project amounted to approximately 87 million dinars. It is a pleasure to know that today, as part of the cooperation with the regions, NIS provides people with the possibility to make the world a better place where people independently identify priorities in the local communities where they live. We are offering a helping hand to all those who wish to make the world a better place,'' said Kirill Kravchenko, NIS CEO.
