Pupils of Primary School Stari grad achieved outstanding results at the Russian Language Olympiad organized by NIS in cooperation with the Serbian Slavic Society and the Russian Centre of the "Russian Peace" Foundation. The opening ceremony was attended by Snežana Lakićević, NIS manager for collaboration with universities, as well as the town representatives, the school principal, and many teachers and pupils. As part of the Energy of Knowledge Programme, the Company provided funds for refurbishing the Russian language classrooms in order to improve and modernize working conditions, and help popularize the Russian language. The Principal, Stanimirka Smiljanić-Raonić, expressed her gratitude to the Company for its contribution to creating better working conditions in their school. A City Council member, Jelena Vasović Bitović thanked the Company on behalf of the City of Užice. "I want you to succeed. We expect the best students to participate in the Russian Language Olympiad, which is to be held in Novi Sad and hope that you will also take part in the Olympiads in mathematics, physics and chemistry," said Snezana Lakićević, NIS Manager for collaboration with universities, educational and scientific institutions.
