Along the lines of cooperation with international and local educational institutions the NIS Company played host to the Yale School of Management students today The guests from Yale then visited the Pančevo Oil Refinery and rounded up their tour by visiting a state-of-the-art GAZPROM refuelling station “Dunav“. In his lecture to the students, Kirill Kravchenko gave them the details of NIS transformation from an oil and gas extracting and processing company into a major vertically integrated power generation systems in the region of the South East Europe. The transformation started in 2009, when Russia’s Gazprom Neft obtained the majority stake in this company. In addition to that the CEO spoke about further plans in store for the development of the Company, pointing out the pivotal importance of operating in compliance with the sustainable development principles. Within his scientific work, NIS CEO regularly holds master classes of the kind to students of various business schools, such as International Management School in the town of Bled in Slovenia or INSEAD Business School. His work with students is facilitated by his Chief of Staff, Nadežda Kokotović. In his lecture to the students, Kirill Kravchenko gave them the details of NIS transformation from an oil and gas extracting and processing company into a major vertically integrated power generation systems in the region of the South East Europe Following the CEO presentation, about 30 students, whose visit of NIS was organized by Ivana Katić, a Yale professor, went on a tour of the revamped Pančevo Oil Refinery. Representatives of the Company’s Refining Block have demonstrated to the students the Mild Hydrocracking and Distillate Hydro-Treatment Unit Complex (MHC/DHT), the construction of which made possible the production of motor fuels of “Euro 5“ standard. The students visited the Main Control Room of the Refinery and were told about the plans for further modernisation of NIS refining complex. The representatives of the Company’s Sales and Distribution Block have wrapped up their visit by welcoming the students from Yale at the “Dunav“ refuelling station, which operates under the GAZPROM brand in the premium segment of the retail both in Serbia and the region at large. The students were demonstrated the concept of regional development for the refuelling stations running business under the GAZPROM brand operated by NIS in Serbia as well as in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria and Romania, where consumer may purchase top quality fuel. Following the CEO presentation, about 30 students went on a tour of the revamped Pančevo Oil Refinery Ivana Katić, the professor of faculty at Yale, had already visited NIS last year; this time round she was impressed by NIS making strides in development in spite of all impossible odds. “I am especially overwhelmed and at the same time feel proud of, being someone involved in education, the investment of NIS in cooperation with institutions of science and education. It is a great practice you have in work with the young, as this is what Serbia needs”, said – professor Katić. The students visited the Main Control Room of the Refinery A student of the prestigious Yale University Fyodor Panfilov shared that it was especially interesting for him to find out from the presentation made by NIS CEO of the way the company weathered the oil sector crisis. “It came to me as a surprise that NIS was ready to deflect the crisis as it acted proactively. In a word, I have very positive impressions “,Panfilov said. The representatives of the Company’s Sales and Distribution Block have wrapped up their visit by welcoming the students from Yale at the “Dunav“ refuelling station Katelyn Folstrom was very happy with the tour of the revamped Pančevo Oil Refinery organised for her fellow-students. “I think that the Refinery is very modern and I was surprised to notice how clean it is. I am also impressed with the focus on HSE, and am glad that NIS Company is committed to it.“
