NIS is the first company in Serbia to have published the certified Sustainable Development Report in line with the highest corporate reporting standards. This year as well, the report was traditionally presented at the Stakeholder Forum where a panel discussion was held, in which - beside the Chief Executive Officer of NIS, Mr Kirill Kravchenko - the Director of KPMG, Mr James Tornley, and the editor of "Biznis" and "Ekonomtar" magazines, Ms Radojka Nikolić also took part. After the introductory panel discussion, three round tables were organized to address the following topics: • "Safe in the Time of Crisis - Employee Motivation and Benefits" • "Responsible to the Environment - Corporate HSE Practice", and • "Investment in Energy - Investment in Future" The round tables were attended by the representatives of NIS, ministries, state institutions, universities of Novi Sad and Belgrade, non-governmental organizations, leading companies in Serbia, and also media representatives. Investment in energy represents investment in future – it was concluded at the round table of the same title The transparency in reporting has been improved compared to the previous year, due to which the number of indicators was increased from 48 to 69. The focus is on a high-quality open dialogue between the company and its stakeholders, on educating the suppliers and developing their awareness of the importance of socially responsible business. At the round table "Safe in the Time of Crisis - Employee Motivation and Benefits", it was pointed out that the collective contract was a guarantee of safety in the time of crisis As a socially responsible company which follows the global trends, NIS reports on the important aspects of its business and achievements oriented to the improvement of the community life by stimulating economic, cultural and social growth, with an aim of fostering the long-term partner relationships with the stakeholders: partners, state institutions, ministries, universities and non-governmental organizations. The topic focusing on the harmonization of NIS with EU regulations in the field of environmental protection, received the greatest attention of the participants of the round table "Responsible to the Environment - Corporate HSE Practice" NIS published its first verified Sustainable Development Report in line with the GRI standards in Serbia in 2011 and, since then, it observes the GRI guidelines which represent a generally adopted framework in the field of reporting on the economic, environmental and social performance of an organization.
