NIS was represented at the event by Ilya Kutyaev, Development Department Director at NIS Energy A round-table discussion was organised to tackle the subject of “Current issues of Russian-Serbian cooperation in traditional and alternative energy, energy-saving technologies,” gathering representatives from the Serbian Ministry of Mining and Energy, energy businesses from Serbia and Russia, oil and gas universities from Russia, and the Russian Chamber of Commerce. Expo-Russia Serbia as an exhibition of Russian businesses has been successfully organised in Serbia since 2014, with support from the governments of the Russian Federation and Serbia He noted that the establishment of Energy as a separate unit of NIS in 2011 marked the beginning of NIS’ transformation from an oil and gas company into an energy holding. He explained that since then the Company had completed a large number of projects, primarily in co-generation and the development of geothermal energy segment. Of NIS' upcoming energy projects, Kutyaev highlighted the construction of a 140 МW thermal power plant and district heating plant in Pančevo to be implemented in collaboration with a company Centrenergoholding (from Gazprom Enegroholding), and the 100 MW wind farm in Plandište. Expo-Russia Serbia as an exhibition of Russian businesses has been successfully organised in Serbia since 2014, with support from the governments of the Russian Federation and Serbia. The event aims to strengthen the trade links and to promote and increase the economic cooperation between Russia and Serbia as well as other countries of South East Europe.
