October 12, 2016

On the first day of this event, NIS presented its innovative project of preparing gas for transportation – Amine Unit At the stand of NIS, visitors may become familiar, until October 14th, with projects that have enabled NIS to retain its leading position in our country, and which have qualified it to transform itself from an oil company to an energy company. Today, on the first day of this event, NIS presented its innovative project of preparing gas for transportation – Amine Unit. Operation of this modern unit allows for quality increase of domestic natural gas through separation of carbon-dioxide and other gas admixtures, while at the same time, it contributes to upsurge of gas production volume. In addition to positive business effects, this project has had important environmental effect, since technology used in Amine Unit is one of the safest for the environment. Technology applied in Amine Unit is HiPACT (High Pressure Acidgas Capture Technology), one of the most efficient ones among the existing methods in gas refining process. Unit in Elemir is the first HiPACT plant in Europe, and NIS Company has invested more than 30 million euro in the project of constructing the Amine Unit for natural gas treatment. Presentation of Amine Unit has been, among other participants, attended by students of the course: Industrial Engineering in Oil and Gas Exploitation at the Technical College “Mihajlo Pupin” in Zrenjanin Characteristics and advantages of the Amine Unit, which operates within NIS's Plant for Gas Preparation and Transport in Elemir, have been presented to the Fair visitors by Mirjana Ostojic of the NIS’s Exploration and Production Block. Presentation of Amine Unit has been, among other participants, attended also by students of the course: Industrial Engineering in Oil and Gas Exploitation at the Technical College “Mihajlo Pupin” in Zrenjanin, who thus have learned more about up-to-date technology of gas production. Development and opening of this course at the Technical College has been initiated by NIS Company, due to demand for highly qualified expert professionals in oil and gas exploitation. Upon presentation of the unit, students participated in a quiz and best of them were awarded with appropriate gifts.
