On the occasion of Mining and Geological Faculty Day and the completion of the first accreditation phase this Belgrade University Department has granted NIS with a special award in acknowledgement of the company’s exceptional contribution to the educational and scientific work. At a solemn ceremony held today, the Dean of the Mining and Geological Faculty Professor Vladica Cvetković , Ph.D. has presented a Diploma of Honor to Aleksandr Kulagin, the Director of Scientific and Technical Center of NIS. Constant research, scientific innovations and new technologies constitute the foundation of the NIS business operation conducted with the significant involvement of the Company’s scientific base – the Scientific and Technical Center (STC), which was established in 2009. The activities of the Center greatly boost energy efficiency, significantly reduce risk and contribute a great deal to sustainable development and responsible treatment of resources. STC will endeavour to emerge as a Competence Center by 2015 which by its further development and increase of its own research scientific work and projects would become a regional leader in its realm.
