On behalf of the company, the award was received by Andrey Shibanov, Deputy CEO and Director of Organisational Affairs, and Snežana Lakićević, Manager for Cooperation with Universities, Educational and Scientific Institutions NIS has been recognised as a company that contributed towards improving the conditions of education in scientific institutions across Serbia in 2016 through its investments made as part of the Energy of Knowledge corporate programme. The programme, which the company has been running for five years now, has so far provided support to 26 knowledge Olympiads of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and the Russian language, with students from Serbia winning gold medals in international competitions across the globe. Four new academic curricula have been initiated and supported, and three bilingual Russian-Serbian classes have been created in schools in Serbia. In addition, NIS has adapted more than 40 classrooms and laboratories in schools and at universities, providing them with modern teaching aids, and to date the scholarship programme has involved over 94 students, who study both at Serbian and prestigious universities in the Russian Federation.
