NIS set new digital wellbeing standards

This was a rare opportunity for more than 250 HR experts from across the country and the globe to gather in one place and discuss the challenges of employee development and motivation and the new business trends of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. One of the main conclusions of the international conference held on March 21 in Belgrade, organized by NIS Gazprom Neft, is the transformation of human resources into human capital as one of the key elements of sustainable development and long-term success of business. Participants of the conference titled "E-Being@Work" traveled the paths of the "world of the future" and on the way to the distant 2025 they looked at perspectives of company transformation in a time of rapid technological development and digitization in which people play a key role as the driving force of every modern company. Intriguing conferences, organized by NIS, as one of the largest and most attractive employers in Serbia, aim to expand the HR community and share inspirational ideas and world practices. This year NIS gathered in a futuristic ambience leading regional experts, numerous business representatives and experienced consultants from international companies. The purpose of this trip was to "build a tree of an organizational structure that will support all the changes" initiated by the modern business, "plant a seed for the development of future employees" and "exploit the fertile ground for the success of digital processes" in the favor of the employees. Everyone agreed that "E-Being@Work" is a new concept for the wellbeing of the employee in a technologically advanced environment, and that people have to come first. Among the speakers at this year's conference were HR gurus from the world of consulting companies: The Boston Consulting Group, Spencer Stuart, C-Team, PWC, Gi-Group and Deloitte, Absence Management Institute. They inspired the participants to transform the culture and encouraged creative thinking for "out of the box" HR solutions. Business leaders Dejan Turk, CEO of Vip mobile and A1 Slovenia, Elena Surmeyko, Head of Corporate Culture Transformation at Gazprom Neft, Renata Matusinović from the company Nestle, also presented their perspective for the future. While welcoming the participants Kirill Tyurdenev pointed out that we live in a time of great changes, when technologies influence all aspects of our lives. "Today in most cases, money is not the main motive for people to join an organization. It is now the interest in the job, the flexibility of the organization, the possibility to work with interesting people. This is something that motivates young professionals to join a company. You need to keep these young and competent people in your organization in order to have a good result. It is a task for the HR managers - to know the needs of the company, which experts it needs now, and which in the future, how to attract and keep these people, how to motivate them", Tyurdenev stressed. Alisa Evsina, NIS HR Director Alisa Evsina, NIS HR Director, emphasized at the conference that the time of digital transformation is the time of passage through the "forest of change," but that this forest is not dark and hostile, and that in all the changes HR must retain its strategic role and help employees so they don’t get lost in them. "With these changes, business is increasingly turning to HR. We need to show the business that we can help it achieve good results. But, on the other hand, we need to help our employees cope with change more easily and show them that these processes are happening in their favor, that they will help them be more efficient, sometimes enjoy life and work more, and achieve better results", Evsina said. The era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is a time of uncertainty, but also of accelerated development, digitization being the alpha and omega of future successful businesses and the change being a new standard. In such an environment, HR assumes one of the key roles and modifies the "air" of corporate culture to provide flexibility, positive environment and security to the employees.
