NIS Sponsors Opening of Two Audio Studios

December 4, 2014

Audio libraries are designed for recording materials for the blind and visually impaired, and the new studio will provide better conditions and facilitate learning and informing of the blind and visually impaired. The audio libraries, including current novels, new textbooks and professional books as well as popular weeklies and monthlies, will now be fully available on the library portal, which means available to a larger number of the blind and visually impaired. Last year, the Vojvodina Association of the Blind obtained a database of audio books and textbooks, also with NIS support; the opening of the two studios is an opportunity to raise the quality of materials, which will directly expand the scope of information available to the members of Vojvodina Association of the Blind. Apart from the representatives of the Association of the Blind, the opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Rights, Mr Aleksandar Vulin as well. Audio Studio Construction is one of the projects within the Cooperation for Development Programme, designed with the aim of fostering partnership with local communities in which the company operates and implemented for the sixth consecutive year. As part of the programme, a public tender entitled Together to the Community has been implemented for three years now, this year in cooperation with 11 municipalities. The projects selected at the public tender assist local development and facilitate and improve the work of numerous cultural, educational and sports institutions.
