NIS supported health care institutions throughout Serbia

Institutions to be supported by NIS in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš, Čačak, Pančevo, Požarevac, Zrenjanin, Kikinda, Novi Bečej, Srbobran, Žitište, Kanjiža and Plandište have been selected in a competition. Decisions were made by a commission comprising representatives of Serbia’s Ministry of Healthcare, local municipalities and the NIS Company. Thus, NIS is to facilitate the reconstruction and remodelling of children outpatient health care units, procurement of modern medical equipment and apparatus, as well as ambulance vehicles for a whole lot of health care institutions in partner municipalities and towns. The outcome of the competition and the projects to be delivered are posted on a website at the address: zajednicizajedno.nis.eu, as well as on local municipalities’ websites. Funding the improvement of conditions for health care institutions functioning is part and parcel of NIS’ strategy, whereby the company has so far rendered support to institutions providing healthcare to the youngest in various programmes to the tune of almost RSD 100 million. Thus, NIS has donated funds to procure modern instruments for the Institute for children and youth healthcare of Vojvodina in Novi Sad, University Children Clinic “Tirschova” in Belgrade, the “Studenica” General Hospital in the town of Kraljevo and Clinical Hospital Centre in Kosovska Mitrovica. NIS has also supported Hemato-oncology department for children's internal illness in Niš, as well as Institute for mother and child healthcare "Dr Vukan Cupic". For 11 years now, NIS has been conducting its “Together for the Community 2019” social responsibility programme aimed at improving the living standards of those, who live in 13 towns and municipalities of NIS operation. In association with local communities, the company has delivered more than 900 projects to the tune of more than a billion RSD. This money funded the reconstruction of kindergartens, parks, playgrounds and schools, outfitting school laboratories and classrooms, as well as the completion of projects pertaining to science and education, culture, environment, sports, public healthcare and social protection.
