NIS supported Mammoth Fest in Kikinda

The event “Mamutfest” which took place from 6th to 8th September was traditionally sponsored by NIS again this year. The objective of this children’s event is to promote cultural and natural heritage in the form of entertainment, educational and attractive program. As the organizer of the event, the National Museum of Kikinda prepared an interesting program this year, such as the Jurassic Quiz, competition of elementary school students in the museum’s court, exhibitions of children's works, ecology workshops, and the youngest visitors had a chance to participate in the detective game “Confused Curators”. NIS support to this year's festival which took place in Kikinda the seventh year in a row, was implemented within the Public Competition announced under the title “Community Joined Efforts” in the cities and municipalities where the Company operates. Public competitions are the part of the corporate social responsibility program “Cooperation for Development” which aims at strengthening partnerships with the regions in which NIS operates, local authorities and the population. NIS, as a socially responsible company, tries to preserve the tradition and cultural and natural heritage, and recognized the importance of this event, being aware of the fact that success is measured not only by good business results, but also by the responsibility towards the community in which it operates. One more event sponsored by NIS took place in Kikinda last weekend. On Sunday, 8th September, NIS and the Serbian Tennis Association organized “NIS Open School of Tennis” in Trg srpskih dobrovoljaca Square. Children from Kikinda aged 6 to 10 had the opportunity to play tennis and take first steps in this popular sport with the assistance of professional coaches free of charge and enjoy in the interesting entertainment program. The project “NIS Open School of Tennis” has already been hosted by Čačak, Niš, Novi Bečej and Zrenjanin, and after Kikinda it will take place in Pančevo, Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Belgrade. “NIS Open School of Tennis” has been organized for the second year in a row and is a part of the corporate program “Energy of Sports”. This program aims at promoting children’s sport, healthy life style and supporting professional sports and youth sports.
