NIS Supports the Gold Team of Serbian Physicists

The young physicists from Serbia won five medals in the 47th International Physics Olympiad, held from 10 to 17 July in Zurich. The talented high school students achieved the greatest success so far, since all members of the team returned home with medals. It has already become a tradition for the students of the Mathematics High School in Belgrade to win medals. Gold medal was won by Mihailo Sporić, while Dušan Novičić came back from Switzerland with the silver medal. Bronze medals were won by Vuk Radović and Dušan Đorđević. Miloje Đukanović from the Grammar School in Loznica also won a bronze medal. Extraordinary five-member Serbian team of physicists, led by Dr. Božidar Nikolić from the Faculty of Physics in Belgrade and Vladan Pavlović from with the Faculty of Exact and Mathematical Sciences in Niš, was chosen based on the success its members achieved in the Serbian Physics Olympiad, which was held in May this year with the support of NIS. For the fourth consecutive year, as part of the corporate program "Energy of Knowledge”, NIS company provides support to the Serbian Association of Physicists in the organisation of the Serbian Physics Olympics and sponsors students’ visits to international competitions. In this way, NIS invests in the future and supports activities aimed at the affirmation of young and talented students, and thus contributes to the development of science and education in Serbia.
