Official delegation of Naftna Industrija Srbije, NIS, lead by the General Manager Mr. Kiril Kravchenko, visited today the Energy Community Secretariat. Mr. Kravchenko briefed the Secretariat on the development strategy of NIS and its plans on national and regional level. Currently the company’s portfolio includes variety of energy related activities, concerning oil and gas, but targeting actively also electricity generation. The remarkable record in growth of economic indicators in the last three years, based on the production of crude oil and gas, expanded refining and sales was positively noted by the Secretariat. Further, the discussions focused on the potential unconventional oil and gas sources in the region, environment investments, gas to power plans and social activities of NIS. The Secretariat, in return, briefed NIS on the Energy Community developments, including those related to extension of the acquis and priority projects from the regional perspective. The proactive role of the business in the implementation of the Energy Community acquis was explicitly underlined. In this context, the company was invited to actively follow the Energy Community developments and to attend the organization’s fora.
