Of the 500 largest companies in Central Europe, NIS ranked as the most successful by its net profit in 2012

The traditional annual listing of 500 largest companies in Central Europe published by the audit and consultancy firm – Deloitte, ranked NIS as the number one company in the region in the category of achieved net profit in 2012, while Croatian Telecom took the second place, with EUR 225 million, which is nearly half the profits. Just as in the previous year, in the list of the 500 largest companies in Central Europe in 2012, the first two places were taken by the two refiners - Poland's PKN Orlen and Hungarian MOL, while the Czech Skoda took the third position. Among the listed companies, there were eight Serbian companies, three less than in the 2011. In 2012 NIS achieved the most successful financial results over its lifetime. Those were realized due to the increased profitability, continuous growth of investments in new technologies, the retail network development in the country and the region, as well as the research and the increase of oil and gas reserves.
