“Smart Russian Classroom” Opens in Niš with the Support of NIS

The classroom has state-of-the-art equipment and teaching aids, such as an interactive board This project is one of its kind in the region and has been designed to improve the quality of teaching in the form of multimedia learning. The classroom has state-of-the-art equipment and teaching aids, such as an interactive board that operates as a computer and can be used not only for writing but also for watching films and educational programmes and online browsing through interactive materials. The latest reference materials are also at the disposal in the “smart classroom”. Apart from the grammar school students, this classroom will be available for education and professional development to teachers of all primary and secondary schools in Niš, and students of the Department for Russian Language and Literature at the University of Niš. This classroom will also be used for extracurricular activities involving promotion of the Russian language and culture among students of primary and secondary schools in the Nišava District. The official opening of the classroom was attended by Deputy Mayor of Niš Miloš Banđur, Director of the Russian Humanitarian Mission Alexey Polkovnikov, Headmaster of Svetozar Marković Grammar School in Niš Marijan Mišić and representatives of NIS. Within the framework of its Together for the Community programme, NIS cooperates with 11 towns and municipalities in Serbia: Belgrade, Novi Sad, Čačak, Niš, Pančevo, Zrenjanin, Kikinda, Kanjiža, Srbobran, Žitište and Novi Bečej. As part of this programme, the company has been helping local community development and improving the operation of cultural, educational and sports institutions throughout the country for eight years now.
