NIS j.s.c. Novi Sad is a general sponsor of this year’s international student theatre festival “Urban fest”. The festival is organized by the Student Centre of Culture in Niš and it will last until 5 September. The student theatre festival aims at ensuring affirmation to alternative theatre and presenting theatre art in the region. During the festival, 10 plays will be performed and compete in five locations in the city. Numerous accompanying activities will take place during the festival: one-day workshops, roundtables, presentation of new student texts, and students will have the opportunity to participate in publishing the festival's journal. NIS chose this project in public tender announced under the slogan "Zajednici zajedno" (Joined Efforts for Community) in the cities and municipalities where NIS conducts business operations. In this way NIS wants to contribute to the promotion of cultural and artistic values and improve Niš cultural life.
