Students from Serbia to Travel to Russia to International Camp “Artek”

In July and August, students of two bilingual schools from Serbia will stay at the camp of the International Children's Centre “Artek” Serbian students who will be travelling to Russia this summer attend two bilingual classes at the Grammar School “Jovan Jovanović Zmaj” in Novi Sad and at the grammar school in Aleksinac respectively. This year's International Camp “Artek” will be hosting students aged between 12 and 16. Owing to the Association of Young Diplomats from Russia headed by former Russian ambassador to Serbia Valery Egoshkin, 25 students from Serbia will be travelling to Russia this year to take part in the international camp, 15 from the grammar school in Novi Sad and 10 from the grammar school in Aleksinac, to be precise. A reception at the Russian House in Balgrade was organised for the secondary-school students and last year's participants of the camp “Artek” to mark the Russia Day On 11 June, a reception was organised for the secondary-school students and last year's participants of the camp “Artek” to mark the Russia Day. The reception was given at the Russian House in Belgrade, where they had an opportunity to see an exhibition of works of Yakutsk artists “Nomadic Manuscripts of Siberia” and Galina Pavlova's photographic exhibition on Yakutia. Valery Egoshkin gave a lecture to the students, who could also enjoy a presentation of dances on the national musical instrument Jew's harp and folkcraft such as beadwork, horsehair weaving, sewing leather pieces together and flower knitting. 25 students from Serbia will be travelling to Russia this year to take part in the international camp, 15 from the grammar school in Novi Sad and 10 from the grammar school in Aleksinac, to be precise. Being one of the companies that actively supports promotion of the Russian language, NIS helps creation of bilingual classes in Serbian schools within the framework of its “Energy of Knowledge” programme, and will also help with the implementation of the project of sending the students to Russia. Therefore, the Association of Young Diplomats presented awards to Director of Organisational Affairs Andrey Shibanov and his advisor for cooperation with scientific and educational institutions Snežana Lakićević as a token of their gratitude for supporting their work.
