Success of Young Mathematicians with NIS Support

At the most prestigious international competition, the gold medal was won by Aleksa Konstantinov, the student of the Mathematical Grammar School in Belgrade, while the silver medal was won by Anđela Šarković, the student of “Svetozar Markovic Grammar School” in Niš. The bronze medals were won by Ivan Damjanović, the student of “Bora Stanković Grammar School” in Niš and Ognjen Tošić, the student of the Mathematical Grammar School in Belgrade. Marijana Vujadinović and Aleksa Milojević, the students of the Mathematical Grammar School in Belgrade received acknowledgements for participating in the Olympiad. This year's International Mathematical Olympiad was attended by 577 students from 104 countries, and the team that represented Serbia had been selected after a series of competitions organized by the Mathematical Society of Serbia. The final phase of the competition was the Serbian Mathematical Olympiad, organized for the third year in a row with NIS support. NIS invests in the development of education and science and provides support for further development and participation of young talents in competitions through the corporate program “Energy of Knowledge”. The cooperation with universities and scientific institutions is only part of NIS corporate responsible business, which takes place under the slogan “Future in Action”.
