The first autumn theatre festival of Emir Kusturica started with the support of NIS The festival was opened with the play „Moulding – the tragedy of Serbs playing ball“ by Strahinja Madzarevic, directed by Maksim Milosevic, jointly performed by students of Belgrade Faculty of Dramatic Arts and the Cultural institution „Vuk Stefanovic Karadzic“. On the second day of the festival, visitors will enjoy the performance „Pleu Strindberg“, by Friedrich Durrenmatt, directed by Jovica Pavic, which will perform the Faculty of Arts from Kosovska Mitrovica. After that, students will attend a workshop of theatre directing. The festival was opened with the play „Moulding – the tragedy of Serbs playing ball“ by Strahinja Madzarevic The festival will close the latest performance of Belgrade Atelje 212 „Children of Joy“, by Milena Markovic, directed by Snezana Trisic, which has the premiere only few days ago. On the festival opening Emir Kusturica stated that Mecavnik became the venue of another art festival, dedicated to theatre, and he thanked company NIS for the support. The aim of the festival is support to young artists and affirmation of the students of theatre academies from Serbia. NIS hereby chose to support the idea of Emir Kusturica on the annual festival cycle in Mecavnik, which includes the film festival Kustendorf, Spring Book Fair, summer Bolshoi festival and the autumn festival of theatre art.
